All too often developers see every open space as a house waiting to be built. Working with progressive developers and architects we helped to approach a site on the edge of Maghull Merseyside as an opportunity to remake a place, reconnect with an important emblem of local heritage and create an environmentally balanced and sustainable development. Comprising 14 beautifully designed eco-homes and a wild-life meadow, the project was inspired by the concept of Glebe land and the settlement pattern of the original historic village. Framing and reconnecting the parish church and Ancient Chapel, the design and use strategy for the meadow was conceived in partnership with neighbours including the local primary school, adjacent care home and church and scout groups.
