What appears to be the problem can sometimes be the solution! So how do you remediate a notorious former industrial waste site and provide a sustainable housing option for a local authority struggling to accommodate growth and conserve its greenbelt? Working with Cheshire Land we envisaged a place-making vision for 160 acres of former ICI lime-beds made possible by an innovative recycling solution and the template for an ecologically rich environment and a new sustainable community. Having developed the initial vision, we brought together partners, public agencies, local stakeholders and the Local Authority to explore an unexpected and tantalising possibility.
